Erotic Adventures of Candy (1978)
Aug 12th
Carol Connors stars in the title role as a young, innocent girl entering her sexual life. She’s caught in the act of making love with the garden boy by her over-protective Daddy, and is severely reprimanded. After the incident, Candy feels it’s high time she left, and embarks on a journey that lands her in one sex situation after another, much like in the Little Annie Fanny comic strip. Finally she ends up in an odd-ball sex cult where screwing is as common as the lotus position, and as visible. She is forced to blow off a stranger clad in a monk’s robe. As he comes, he lifts the robe and guess who? Co-stars John Holmes, Georgina Spelvin, John Leslie, Paul Thomas, Turk Lydon; directed by Gail Palmer. Watch or Download the Movie
Getting Off (1979)
Aug 7th
CAST: Desiree Cousteau, John Leslie, Serena, Chrystal Royce, Kathy Kaufman, Ken Scudder, Pat Manning, Connie Severs, Don Gomez and San Francisco’s Ultra Girls
If getting off is all you care about, then “GETTING OFF” may be the movie for you. Film students and ‘cineasts’ should seek out more substantial fare, as this oeuvre by Hayes DuPree is more like a plate of hors d’oeuvres than a square meal; but if spicy tidbits tickle your libido, you’re going to eat this one up!

Desiree Cousteau, John Leslie, and Pat Manning are the nominal stars, but most of the really hot stuff comes from the somewhat anonymous supporting cast. DuPree has strung together some down and dirty ‘loops’ in a lewd necklace of carnal gems. Each sex scene is hotter and nastier than the one before, and the sound of rustling raincoats rises rhythmically from the audience as they keep time to this crescendo of lust. One is tempted to tap along.
The technique of making a feature out of unrelated sex scenes with a little “transitional material” thrown in to “tie it all together” may result in a film lacking unity in the Aristotelian sense. But who really gives a shit? I mean, we go to these things to get hot, right? If we want culture, we’ll go to a film with subtitles. If we want a hard-on, we go to cinema with a capital SIN.
The transitional scenes of “GETTING OFF” are mostly lower-case; but the loops between are definitely capital X. The women seem possessed. Like sharks in a feeding frenzy, they gobble flesh and lap up the juices. Such involvement, such commitment is admirable in any endeavor; in erotic films, it’s an unexpected bonus. These girls look as thought they’re in it for the fun, and wouldn’t stop fucking if bombs started falling.
The set-up for the story goes like this. A dominant mistress, played by Pat Manning, shows off her new sex slave (Desiree Cousteau) to one of her regular customers, John Leslie. Pat makes the girl lift her skirt for John’s inspection, then slowly shoves a rose up Desiree’s twat (note to the Society For the Prevention of Cruelty to Pussies: the rose was de-thorned). More >
INTERVIEW: Sharon Kane
Aug 6th
It’s not often that you meet as refreshing and candid a person as Sharon Kane. Armed only with a small tape recorder, our eager emissaries hurried off to the preordained meeting spot – and proceeded to talk and talk. In fact, this transcript has been whittled down to an acceptable length; they talked for hours and hours and hours. Luckily, from the reels of the tape, we have managed to preserve for you the liveliness and forthrightness of the initial interview, cutting only those lengthy parts where food was ordered, hairstyles were pondered, drug habits were argued interminably, friends joined in unexpectedly, etc. What you have here is the nectar, the core of the conversation.
You’ll notice that Sharon’s personality emerges from the page almost immediately. Her startling attitude about sex is liberating and intelligent; her association with the mysterious church of Venus will surprise you; her positive, no frills attitudes towards life will delight you. You can see her in the upcoming Henri Pachard film, The Widespread Scandal of Lydia Lace, as well as The Playgirl, where she has a torrid sex scene with George Payne. Bright, cheerful, and healthily sexual, Sharon Kane is a refreshing and charming new friend.
CAV: Why don’t we start by you telling us what movies you have been in?
Sharon: The first movie I made was “Pretty Features” the very first one.
CAV: “Pretty Features” … it was a big movie, right?
Sharon: My very first starring role. Then there was “Fantasy World”.
CAV: You’ve been in a lot of them?
Sharon: Yeah.
CAV: Have you played the lead in any films?
Sharon: “Expose”.
CAV: Have you done much of your work out in San Francisco? More >
INTERVIEW: Laurien Dominique
Aug 6th
This is the real Laurien Dominique talking with CAV about her real life and loves and lust.
Laurien Dominique is a lovely blonde actress from Illinois. Although Illinois is known for coal miners; where men enter the sweltering, torrid, thick tunnels in search of the shiny mineral that heats up millions of people, Laurien, upon making films, became a more sultry and luscious source of warmth. She can really heat you up! Her fans love her because of her believability in roles, and her poised beauty. In this interview, she shares with us her turn-ons that make her sizzle. She has a fascination with gay men. Or should we say a passion for them. she enjoys showing them what a real woman is made of. And that their raison-d’etre can no longer be filling until they taste the fruits her labor! She’s also an artist and especially likes to draw women in an erotic form. she’s not only well-rounded in talent, she’s also well-rounded in her taste for the sexual delights in life… She is a resident of San Francisco these days. Living there is especially nice for her, since that town-with-the-trolleys became the gay capital of the country. But she makes the best of that too! Someday that town will have another tourist attraction: Laurien Dominique‘s film productions! Hollywood – look out!
CAV: What was your first movie?
LAURIEN: My first one was called Hard Soap, which was a comedy. It was a take off on Mary Hartman – Mary Hartman, when that TV show was real popular. I liked doing a comedy because it was nice to be able to laugh about sex and not take it so seriously.
CAV: Who did the movie?
LAURIEN: Damon Christian and Bob Cher.
CAV: What movie did you make after Hard Soap?
LAURIEN: “V – The Hot One”
CAV: These go back quite a ways, don’t they?
LAURIEN: Yes, I started in ’76. And most of my career was in the late seventies. I averaged one film a year, or two at a time.
CAV: How many movies have you made?
LAURIEN: About 12.
CAV: And after “V: The Hot One“, what film did you do?
: The Women in Love, two years ago.
CAV: Oh, I remember that one. More >
